Dry, dehydrated, rough skin - symptoms.

The skin is the largest organ of the human body; in an adult its surface area reaches 2.5m2. It performs a range of important functions, including a protective barrier against external factors, and participates in the system's thermoregulatory processes.

The most common problem of the human skin is excessive dryness, which often manifests as roughness or flaking. It is usually grey or yellowish and lacklustre. The epidermis becomes very thin, delicate, loses its protective properties and is susceptible to damage. Subjectively felt itching provokes scratching, and, by the same token, mechanical damage, which may lead to inflammation of dry and sensitive skin.
